Been getting calls from Singaporeans lately … and it made me reminisce. I think the Singaporeans will recognise the subjects

This will be the fourth year of Lead Me To The Light. It might be a lil bit different because this year I’ve volunteered to shoot for the Buddhist Maha Vihara Temple. I hope I will not disappoint you
The thorana at Buddhist Maha Vihara temple in Brickfields Kuala Lumpur at sunset on the eve of Wesak Day 2010 …

Malaysian Minister of Transport Dato Seri Ong Tee Keat and the Chief Sangha Nayaka of Malaysia, Venerable Kirinde Sri Dhammaratana Nayaka Maha Thera, marvel at the 20,000-bulb thorana after officially commissioning it on the eve of Wesak Day at the Buddhist Maha Vihara temple in Brickfields Kuala Lumpur…

I had never attended a Sikh wedding before… and neither have I seen a vintage Rolls Royce up close. But what a lucky Christmas day it was for me to have witnessed Randhir and Tresslyn’s wedding ceremony. Here are some photos I photographed at the wedding.
The wedding car … or should I say the wedding limousine, a vintage Rolls Royce. Looks like a Phantom to me but I’m just guessing
The lovely couple - Randhir and Tresslyn
Such a loving couple … the dashing Randhir gave his bride a “little kiss” as soon as he got in ![]()
I stayed with the scene and caught the beautiful Tresslyn’s reaction
One last shot

I photographed a Chinese wedding dinner at the IOI Palm Garden Hotel in Putrajaya recently. Just started to process the many photos captured but I found myself coming back to these toasting shots again and again. The bride’s brothers were in black & white … really cool … and in the style of the 60s too! What better way to interpret the scene than in monochrome aka black & white

Close but not quite, I guess. But you judge for yourself …
What I shot in early August (click image for large version) …
And the image that world renowned wedding photographer Jerry Ghionis used for his facebook event page for his Kuala Lumpur seminar back in September …
Frankly, I do not recall ever seeing Jerry’s photo before and I certainly did not shoot mine with his in mind. In terms of point of view, or perspective, I was just trying to capture the glorious and dramatic shadows that the late afternoon sun was casting on the floor. That coupled with the backlit glass in the arches. As for color, you’lll notice that this is the only shot in the entire set that’s in color… and that’s to remind me of the warm golden light the scene was bathed in. All the other shots were given an old monochrome treatment.
So imagine my fascination when I saw his obviously superior image on facebook for the event. I can’t remember exactly when that was but I guess late August. Anyway, many of my buddies commented to me about the similarity and bumping into talented photographer Matt Marzuki today inspired me to put up this post.
So there you go … coincidences do happen, doppelgangers do exist. Life is like a box of chocolates … and that’s probably my one in a million chance of ever associating with one of the world’s greatest wedding photographers today LOL

Deciding to get married is a big decision. Nobody does it everyday.
On that premise, one of the visions I have as a wedding photographer is to give you an experience of a lifetime.
I want to make you feel like a million dollars.
I want to make you feel you’re the world’s hottest fashion model to ever walk the face of the earth.
I want to make you feel like the star that you are …
Because you’re getting married …
You’re the star

The main event is this Sunday! Le Meridien ballroom. 6-10 p.m. A night of Latin passion and excitement, and Argentinian food, wine, dance and something I hold very dear to my heart … fashion!
And expect to see this stunningly elegant & sexy dress amongst others. Captured in the restroom … yeah you heard right, LOL the restroom in the back … of Sutraa restaurant and bar, this image was conceptualised in a total of 2 minutes. Love at first sight
As a new kid on the “Malaysian wedding photography” block, I’m really excited about this image. I’ve been thinking about all the work I’ve done on runway fashion and I’m delighted to discover the two genres can be two sides of the same coin - stylish and fashionable wedding photography!
Apologies for going off-tangent … I’ll write more about my visions of wedding photography and what I think about the raison d’être of wedding photographers later. For now, I just want to get y’all off your butts and get your tickets to Nila Palacios’ Sunday event.

What has Reader’s Digest’s impending bankruptcy got to do with a photographer in this neck of the woods (or tropical rainforest)??
Well, nothing really. Except that I was contacted by someone from nowpublic.com asking if I’d allow them the use of this photo of my son reading an old copy of the Reader’s Digest in their “article”.
The message came to my attention thru my flickr account where they had identified my photo. I was asked to go to a page on nowpublic.com to sign up as a member so that I can agree to let them use my photo.
